My friend at Teachers College, Columbia University, in the City of New York passed this camera to me. I struggled with wanting to capture something iconic versus unique. In the end, I snapped a pic of a red building across the street from Sara Roosevelt Park on the Lower East Side. It's Forsyth Street near Grand Street. Just a bright red building I always thought was interesting and really stands out in photos. It's at once iconic and unique, yet clearly, NYC. I'm passing this on to a friend who is visiting me from L.A., and he is on his way to North Carolina tomorrow.
