The Story: I've always loved the view of the sunset from the Berkeley hills. I look down on the East Bay, the water, the bridges, and I see so many places from my childhood, from college, and all of it is wrapped up in the stunning beauty of a golden sunset. I remember a NYTimes feature that was on the one year anniversary of September 11th. The photographer for the cover page wrote how he wanted to show the city cast in golden light at sunset -- how most people take a photo toward a sunset without looking behind them at the effect of the light in that direction. Since then, I always think about how the light at sunset can bring out such beauty not only in nature but also in the built environment.
